“ The best dining experience of my life! My husband and I moved to San Antonio from New York City in July and I can honestly say Mixtli tops NYC . We had reservations for 5:45, but my husband had a medical emergency that he needed to attend to. They were very understanding and still sat us a half an hour late. A big thanks for accommodating us! The food/cocktails were phenomenal. The menu took us through the fall of the Aztec Empire. Every dish was explained to us in detail; what ingredients were used and why. You could feel the passion and emotion in the food. The cocktails were incredible. My favorite - a night of tears (I hope that’s correct!). A delicious winter spiced vodka with notes of quince and a piece of freeze dried pineapple. We can’t wait to come back! So much love to the entire staff. ”

Everyone in staff was so wonderful and the stories behind each dish and each cocktail is incredible! The lady who was in charge of the wine was especially great with perfect wine pairings from the reserve pairing option. My wife is a vegetarian but every single course was created for her so that it was essentially the same as mine but with a substitution for the meat which was special because we were able to essentially experience the same thing which is unheard of! “ My friend and I went to Mixtli (our 3rd time now) to try their tasting menu, and honestly, it completely lived up to the hype of their new Michelin star. Every single dish was incredible, and the combinations of flavors were out of this world. They used some really interesting ingredients—like sardines and steak with this amazing pumpkin sauce—that just worked so well together. Each dish felt like it was crafted with so much care, and it all came together beautifully. We also went for the reserved wine pairing, which was totally worth it. The wines were perfectly chosen, but the sherry stood out for me—it smelled sweet and tasted so smooth. I couldn’t get enough of it. The vibe at Mixtli is great, and the staff made the whole experience even better by explaining the dishes and making us feel really taken care of. If you’re thinking about going, just do it.
